Zenaba, the undisputed leader in Afro hair styling in USA

Zenaba has been around since 2006. The journey began with a simple forum where people shared tips and tricks for hair care. Since then, the site has evolved into a leading reference for Afro hair styling in USA, receiving over 3,000 hairstyle requests per month!

Zenaba in numbers, the number 1 for at-home Afro hair styling in USA:

Zenaba is simply the largest hub for Afro hair styling in terms of hairstyle requests and specialized stylists for textured hair (services) in USA.

The Zenaba website (black-owned business), already well-known among Afro-Caribbean women, was created in 2006. It began as a platform for women passionate about beauty, particularly concerned with curly, frizzy, and coily hair, as well as medium to dark skin tones.

Zenaba is a site that allows sharing, advising, and discovering tips on techniques, products, and beauty ideas specifically for women of African descent.

Today, the site represents a true showcase of Black and mixed-race women's beauty and allows users to book an at-home Afro hair stylist anywhere in US! These stylists take pride in their hair and demonstrate that countless hairstyles are possible… each more beautiful than the last!

Zenaba’s goal is to help Afro-Caribbean women better understand their hair and skin, while allowing thousands to share their secrets, experiences, and expertise so that beauty goes hand in hand with health.

How was Zenaba born?

In 2005, I did a lot of research online to learn how to care for my coily hair. At that time, coily hair was still considered a “flaw,” and there were very few resources to find useful information on its care.

It was on the forum “Boucle et coton” that Flora found the most advice from her peers.

A year later, by calling my sister Diane and discussing the lack of information about coily hair, they came up with the idea of creating their own online platform.

My partner Olivier is the technical CTO.
